Boxer Devin Haney wants his ex-fiancee to give back $350,000 worth of gifts. He's suing Leena Sayed for luxury handbags, watches, and jewelry he gave her before they called off their wedding.
Haney and Sayed met about two years ago. They had a child named Khrome in January. But things have gotten messy since their split.
The boxer filed his lawsuit in Los Angeles County. He says California law requires Sayed to return the gifts because they didn't get married. Haney claims the presents were only given on the condition that they'd tie the knot.
This isn't the first time Haney's taken Sayed to court. A few weeks ago, he sued her for extortion and defamation. Now, he's after more than $500,000 in total damages.
Sayed isn't taking this lying down. She got a domestic violence restraining order against Haney. Her lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, had strong words about the latest lawsuit:
"This appears to be an extension of his campaign to punish her for having obtained a domestic violence restraining order against him, after suing her civilly for what she had to file in court to get the restraining order. He needs to get real."
The legal battles between Haney and Sayed have heated up quickly. It looks like the boxer's in for another round of controversy outside the ring.
