Terence Crawford believes Gervonta 'Tank' Davis won't move up in weight to face him. The Omaha native shared his thoughts during a recent appearance on the Cigar Talk Podcast.

Crawford, who's gearing up for the biggest fight of his career, didn't mince words about Davis' potential to climb weight classes.

"Tank would never. He would never even think about to come up to 154."

When asked if Davis might consider a jump to welterweight, Crawford doubled down on his stance.

"Yes, if he gets to pick his opponent, but Tank would never go from 35 to 54."

Crawford's comments suggest he thinks Davis carefully selects his opponents when moving up in weight.

At 37, Crawford has built an impressive career since turning pro in 2008. He's claimed world titles in four weight divisions and made history as the first male fighter to become undisputed champion in two divisions during the four-belt era.

Now, Crawford faces his toughest challenge yet. He's set to take on Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed super-middleweight championship. The mega-fight will take place on Saturday, September 13, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Davis, the current WBA world lightweight champion, has his own business to attend to. He's expected to face Lamont Roach Jr. in a rematch on August 16 in Las Vegas. Their first bout in March at New York's Barclays Center ended in a close split decision draw.

As both fighters prepare for their upcoming challenges, Crawford's comments have added fuel to the ongoing discussion about potential matchups in boxing's lower weight classes.
