The head of the Top Rank promotional company Bob Arum stated that Vasiliy Lomachenko decided to end his career due to back problems.

“Lomachenko is a true and serious athlete. His back was bothering him. They tried to solve this problem, but they couldn’t, so he decided to end his career. The thing is, Lomachenko was not interested in continuing his career if he could not show the best version of himself.

I respect this decision. I respect Lomachenko and his father. I wish all fighters were like Vasiliy,” Arum said in an interview with the YouTube channel Fight Hub TV.
