Famous trainer Freddie Roach commented on the decision of his legendary protégé Manny Pacquiao to resume his career at 46 years old.
It was officially announced earlier that the Filipino will fight WBC welterweight champion American Mario Barrios on July 19 in Las Vegas, USA.
“To be honest, I was against Pacquiao’s return because he is already the greatest boxer and has done a lot. But he keeps saying that he has one fight left and he needs to prove to the world that he still remains real.
When I was asked who I would choose as Manny’s opponent, I replied that we are going for just one fight, and he must be the best. This should be an opponent whom Pacquiao can totally control in the ring, and I think he can handle it,” Roach is quoted by Boxing Scene.
