Gervonta Davis has changed his mind about retiring from boxing. The WBA lightweight champion recently revealed he's not ready to hang up his gloves just yet.

'Tank' Davis surprised fans earlier this year when he announced plans to retire by the end of 2025. He made this statement before his March 1 fight against Lamont Roach Jr in New York. The bout ended in a split decision draw after twelve rounds of close action.

Now, Davis has reversed course on his retirement plans. He explained his decision on A Safe Place Podcast, saying he still has unfinished business in the ring.

"There's definitely some more heads I got to put on a wall," Davis said. "I want to get myself together. I really want to get myself together. Not retire but take a break ...."

The 30-year-old Baltimore native's change of heart comes as he prepares for a rematch with Roach Jr, set for August. This fight could be one of the biggest of the year, with an official announcement expected in the coming weeks.

Davis' decision to continue fighting will excite fans who've been hoping for a showdown with unbeaten WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson. It remains to be seen if this dream match-up will happen, but Davis' latest comments suggest he's not done chasing big fights.

Davis' initial retirement announcement sent shockwaves through the boxing world. His decision to keep fighting will likely generate just as much buzz, as fans look forward to seeing what 'Tank' can accomplish in the coming years.
