Despite the fact that Dainier Pero (11-0, 8 KO) maintained his undefeated status, Cesar Navarro (13-3, 11 KO) made him truly fight for his 0 in the loss column. The Cuban, 2016 Youth World Champion, gold medalist of the 2019 Pan American Games, and quarter-finalist of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games stepped into the ring with an impressive weight of 108.7 kilograms.

At first, everything was going well for the Cuban, but in the third round, problems began. At one point, Navarro was able to land a right hook to the jaw, and the favorite fell hard to the ring floor. He got back up, but moments later he was counted down again after a short right uppercut, and he had to escape with a clinch.

The 25-year-old Pero managed to withstand, and although he still faced small problems, he ultimately achieved victory. After the final bell, all the judges favored him with a score of 96-92.
