Benavides' father reacted to Bivol's rejection of the WBC belt

Jose Benavidez Sr, father and coach of newly-crowned WBC bantamweight champion David Benavidez, commented on Dmitry Bivol's decision to vacate the belt that went to his son without a fight.

"It's a surprise. I didn't think Bivol would vacate the title in this way. We wanted to fight Bivol and then we planned to fight Zurdo Ramirez.

Let Beterbiev and Bivol have a trilogy and then we'll fight the winner or loser. Meanwhile, the fights against Callum Smith and Anthony Yarde are also tough fights. Those are not easy fights.
