A welterweight unification bout between Jaron Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs) and Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9 KOs) will take place on April 12 at Matchroom Boxing in Atlantic City. The American is the IBF world champion, while the Lithuanian holds the WBA title. The Ring magazine title will also be at stake in the fight.
Ennis signed with Matchroom Boxing last year and last boxed in November. The American boxer was also recently scheduled to fight Virgil Ortiz, but decided to stay at welterweight for the time being.
Last year, Stanionis returned to the ring after a two-year hiatus and won on points over Gabriel Maestre. The undefeated Lithuanian had been inactive since May.
