Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach Jr are set to face off again in the ring. The rematch comes after their first fight ended in a draw that left many fans scratching their heads.

The WBA Lightweight World Champion 'Tank' Davis will defend his title against heavy underdog Roach Jr towards the end of June. Their first encounter sparked controversy when referee Steve Willis missed a crucial moment in the ninth round. Davis took a knee, but it wasn't called as a knockdown. If it had been, Roach would've won on points.

This missed call led to a draw, a result that didn't sit well with many fans. Even though the New York State Athletic Commission stood by the official decision, public opinion swayed towards Roach as the rightful winner.

The controversial outcome of their first bout has put Davis in a tough spot. His reputation has taken a hit, with some fans jumping ship. Now, he's got to prove himself not just to the fans, but to himself as well.

Hall of Fame fighter Tim Bradley shared his thoughts on the matchup in an interview with Fight Hub TV. He believes Roach might have Davis's number.

"Styles make fights. Anyone who can take a shot, is tough and can take it to Tank, can beat him. Roach's mentally tough, executed gameplan, controlled pressure, hits hard enough for Tank's respect. Roach handled his business and did a great job."

Bradley pointed out Roach's strengths: his mental toughness, ability to stick to a game plan, control of pressure, and power to earn Davis's respect. These qualities make Roach a tough nut to crack for Davis.

The rematch could go either way. Davis will need to go back to the drawing board, figure out what went wrong, and come back stronger. If he performs as expected, the controversy from the first fight might fade away.

As for Roach, he's shown he can hang with the champ. His ability to land on Davis and withstand his power made the first fight competitive. We'll have to wait and see if he can replicate or even improve on that performance in the rematch.

Both fighters have a lot to prove when they step into the ring again. It's a chance for Davis to silence his critics and for Roach to show the first fight wasn't a fluke. Boxing fans are in for a treat when these two square off once more.
