Famous promoter Oscar De La Hoya believes that Terence Crawford will not be able to beat Saul Alvarez because of the big difference in size.
"I've spent a lot of time in this sport, I like to say I'm a historian. Never has a good little fighter beaten a good big fighter. There's never been anything like that. The exception was except Pacquiao when he beat me, but that situation was completely different. I was coming to the end of my career and was a beaten fighter, and Pacquiao was on the rise and beat me. But a good little fighter, which Crawford is, has never in the history of boxing beaten a good big fighter, which Canelo can be called.
If Crawford does it, I'll call him the greatest fighter in history. This probably motivates Terence and his trainer. Like, if he beats Canelo, he will go down in history as one of the best fighters on the planet. That's motivation enough for any fighter. I just don't envision it as a fighter," De La Hoya said.
Alvarez's bout with Crawford is expected to take place in September if Canelo gets past William Skull in May.
