Spence and Crawford met in the ring last July in Las Vegas. Crawford won the fight, stopping Spence in the ninth round and becoming the undisputed welterweight champion. He put on an incredible display to claim a ninth round stoppage victory at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Now, Crawford's gearing up to face Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez. The fight's planned for September in Las Vegas, and we're waiting for the official announcement.
Spence, known as 'The Truth', shared his thoughts on the potential match-up with Fight Hub TV. He's backing Crawford all the way.
"I'll be going for 'Bud' if he fights Canelo, I'll be going for him. I don't know if he's going to win or lose but I'll definitely be going for Crawford. I think if anybody can pull it off he can pull it off."
Spence pointed out that Canelo's fought at light-heavyweight before. He's faced guys like Kovalev and Bivol at 175 pounds.
"Canelo went up to 175 and fought Kovalev and fought the other guy [Bivol] too, so if he can do it, and he started at 147, so if he doing then why can't Crawford do it."
The 34-year-old from Long Island believes Crawford's got the skills to make it happen. It'll be the biggest challenge of Crawford's career, but Spence thinks his former rival's got what it takes to pull off the upset.
