The undeserved win for Pani Pradaberry (44-2, 27 KOs) prompted WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman to announce a small investigation into the matter.
Recall that three days ago the Thai faced Carlos Canizales (27-3-1, 19 KOs) of Venezuela in a fight for the vacant WBC belt. The judges - Malcolm Bulner (114-114), Antonio Carrillo (115-113) and Zanashir Taznaa (116-112) by split decision awarded the victory to Pradabsri, who was booed by the audience, although the fight was held at his home arena. Suleiman himself has taken an interest in the case and the decisions of the side judges will allegedly be reviewed.
"After a surprisingly equal fight, Pradaberry got the judges' decision on his home ground. Canizales is a fighter who left his heart in the ring. I am disappointed with the attitude of our organization's judges in certain rounds and I am going to demand an immediate review by the appropriate commission. The WBC judges are responsible for their decisions," assured the almost 55-year-old Mexican.
After a sensational close fight Pradabsri is awarded a majority decision in Thailand. Cañizales is a warrior who fought his heart out .
