Dave Allen, a popular British heavyweight boxer, thinks Tyson Fury will beat Oleksandr Usyk. Allen has sparred with both fighters and says Fury is the best he's ever faced.
The two heavyweight champions faced off in May for the first undisputed heavyweight fight in nearly 25 years. Usyk won by decision after 12 rounds, landing his best shot in the ninth. Now, Fury's in training camp to avenge his first-ever loss, while Usyk's getting ready to defend three of his four world titles.
Allen shared his thoughts on the matchup in a recent post from Queensberry. He said:
"Tyson Fury is the best boxer I've ever shared the ring with. I think Tyson Fury wins the fight. I would never pick against him."
Allen also talked about his experience sparring with Usyk:
"[I sparred Usyk] on the last day on the Friday when he hit me with a left hand and to all intent and purpose he knocked me out. He's a really nice man, I like him a lot."
Even though Allen likes Usyk and thinks he's a powerful puncher, he still favors Fury. He even thought Fury would stop Usyk halfway through their first fight.
Fury has vowed to stop Usyk in their rematch, which is set for December 21. On the same night, Allen will step into the ring himself. He's scheduled to fight Johnny Fisher on the undercard of the Fury-Usyk rematch.
With both fighters gearing up for their big night, fans are eager to see if Fury can live up to Allen's prediction or if Usyk will prove once again why he's the current champion.
