WBC interim light heavyweight titleholder David Benavidez said he wants a fight against WBA and WBO light heavyweight champion Gilberto Ramirez.
"This is unequivocally the fight we're targeting. If we could get it tomorrow, we would fight right tomorrow. I know Gilberto Ramirez very well and I'm really proud of him because he's the unified heavyweight champion of the world.
He's won two titles, I've won a lot of titles as well. I've known him for a long time, so I'm proud that he's my friend, that we've worked together. At the end of the day, I feel like our fight could be one of the biggest fights in the history of the first heavyweight division. You know, when two Mexicans come out to fight, it's definitely going to be a great fight," Benavides said.
