Gervonta Davis, the lightweight champ and box office star, fired back at Keyshawn Davis after the up-and-comer said Davis was 'worried' to fight him.
The lightweight division is packed with talent right now. Davis, known as 'Tank', holds a perfect 28-0 record with 26 knockouts. He's getting ready to defend his title against former super-featherweight champ Lamont Roach Jr in January.
Meanwhile, Keyshawn Davis is gearing up for a fight in his hometown of Norfolk this weekend. He's facing Gustavo Lemos and trying to make a name for himself in the division.
In a recent Cigar Talk interview, Davis threw down the gauntlet to Tank:
"Man, that's up to Tank is Tank want to see it for himself. Send a contract, a n***a will sign it. Outside of the potential money to be made I will fight him with that same energy he's coming with. He can't do all them shenanigans and all that s**t he be doing with other people, he can't do that s**t with me."
Davis didn't stop there. He claimed Tank's team was scared of him:
"Yes I'm ready for that. He can't f**k with me, bro. Him and his coach know that. The bald-headed dude told me 'just don't call Tank out for the rest of the year.' … Them n***as is worried. They want me to move to 140, to get out of 135 so I can be too big and don't gotta fight them no more. No. I'm staying at 135 and I'm gonna be here till you fight me."
Tank didn't take long to respond. He jumped on social media and brushed off Davis's comments:
"Stop d**k eating, do that and this. Little n***a fighting on Friday night. He's not even worth mentioning. And buddy a b***h, cold b***h. Tell [him] do [something]."
Tank's got a reputation for ending fights early. Only two of his 30 opponents have lasted the full distance. It looks like Keyshawn Davis wants to test that power for himself, but Tank's not biting just yet.
