Gervonta Davis, the undefeated boxer with a perfect 30-0 record and 28 knockouts, has picked his favorite knockout. The three-weight world champion says his best KO came against Leo Santa Cruz in October 2020.

'Tank' Davis has put together an impressive collection of knockouts throughout his career. He's beaten top fighters like Ryan Garcia and Rolly Romero. In June, he added Frank Martin to his list of victims.

But it's the Santa Cruz fight that stands out for Davis. The bout took place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Davis explained his choice in a recent interview with PBC.

"I would say Leo Santa Cruz. In training camp I was running every day for Leo for two or three months. I was getting my ass whooped in the gym in sparring. I knew his output would be high but I knew mine would be up there with his or close."

Davis trained hard for months, enduring tough sparring sessions to prepare for Santa Cruz's relentless style. He knew he had to match Santa Cruz's high work rate to have a chance.

"I had to pick my shots because of what type of fighter he was, because he's not going to stop. If he feels as though he's breaking me down that's when I'm going to get my ass whooped."

The fight was close for five rounds. But in the sixth, Davis landed the knockout blow. He remembers the moment vividly.

"They felt I was going to break down but I was doing my job so much that I was ready for everything he threw. I wound up knocking him out in front of his dad and his corner, so it was crazy."

Davis was originally set to fight Lamont Roach in Texas this December. That fight has been postponed, but Davis has hinted at new plans. Fans will have to wait to see what's next for the knockout artist.
