Tyson Fury is getting ready for his next fight after losing to Oleksandr Usyk in May. It's the first time Fury has ever lost in his professional career.
The fight with Usyk was close and went the full distance. Fury felt the judges got it wrong, so he's aiming for a knockout in the rematch. He wants to become a three-time champion when they meet again in December.
Usyk is a tough opponent. He was the undisputed cruiserweight champion before moving up to heavyweight, where he now holds all the belts. Fury knows he'll need to make some changes to beat him this time.
To help him prepare, Fury might bring in Jai Opetaia for sparring. Opetaia is the current IBF cruiserweight champion and has worked with Fury before. He just defended his title against Jack Massey and won by stoppage.
In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Opetaia talked about his recent fight and future plans:
"It was alright. We can do better. It's been a weird couple of months, we really had to adapt to having my old man back in here, we needed that fight to get back to our roots and finding our groove. I know my fitness and sharpness can be better."
Opetaia wants to unify the cruiserweight division. He plans to deal with his mandatory defense first, then chase the other champions. When asked about helping Fury prepare for Usyk, he said:
"Of course, I'm always willing to be around other world-class athletes and level up around great fighters. It would be an honour."
Fury, known as "The Gypsy King," will need all the help he can get. Usyk proved to be a tricky opponent in their first meeting. With his undefeated record gone, Fury will be more determined than ever to win back his titles and cement his legacy as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
