Frank Warren Reveals His 'Uncomfortable' Matchup for Tyson Fury: "It's Not About Money"

Frank Warren, who promotes both Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois, feels uneasy about a possible fight between the two heavyweights. The veteran promoter opened up about this potential matchup in a recent chat with Seconds Out.

Warren's focus right now is on Fury's upcoming rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in December. Fury wants to get back at Usyk after losing to him earlier this year. It was Fury's first pro loss, and he's eager to win back three of the four major heavyweight belts.

When asked about a future Fury-Dubois fight, Warren didn't mince words:

"That may be the case. That is going to be up to the two boxers to decide. But I would be uncomfortable, and I have been involved with fighters before who we promoted fighting each other and we never shied away from it."

Warren explained why he'd feel so awkward:

"I'm very fond and close with Tyson and also the fact we brought Daniel through and have a good relationship so that would be… talk about fence-sitting, that would be awkward."

He even used a colorful metaphor to describe how tricky the situation would be:

"I'd have a sore a**e for a month with that one. It's business at the end of the day, they're professional boxers and if it did happen they would make money, we would make money, but it's a difficult one."

Warren pointed out that this situation is different from when Joe Joyce fought Dubois. That fight was ordered, and neither boxer wanted to back out.

If Fury beats Usyk, he might want to become the undisputed champion by fighting Dubois. Dubois recently won the IBF title by stopping Anthony Joshua in impressive fashion.

Fury's rematch with Usyk is set for December. Usyk, a former Olympic gold medalist and undisputed cruiserweight champ, beat Fury by split decision in their first fight. Fury hit the canvas in round nine after Usyk caught him with a big shot.

Warren will have to navigate these tricky waters carefully. For now, he's focused on getting Fury ready for his shot at becoming a three-time heavyweight champion against Usyk.
