Usyk - about detention in Poland: "There was a misunderstanding"
Famous Ukrainian boxer, unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has spoken out about his detention in Poland.
Recall that last night, September 17, Usyk was unexpectedly arrested at one of the airports in Krakow, but soon he was released. It was reported that the reason for the detention was the protest of the Ukrainian against the non-admission to the flight of his companion.
"Dear friends, there was a misunderstanding. It was quickly resolved. Thank you to everyone who cared [about me]. Thanks to Ukrainian diplomats for effective support. And respect to the Polish police for fulfilling their obligations without regard to height, weight, size or regalia. Thank God for everything," Usyk stated on Instagram.
