Oleksandr Usyk was detained at Krakow airport in Poland
Oleksandr Usyk was arrested at Krakow airport on Tuesday night. The Ukrainian boxing champion was led by security officers in handcuffs to an elevator in a restricted area of the airport.
Zhan Beleniuk, a Ukrainian politician, was the first to share this news. He said that Usyk was arrested, but he doesn't know yet for what. He wrote:
"Oleksandr Usyk was arrested at Krakow airport. The circumstances are being clarified."
Video from the scene shows airport security officers leading Usyk handcuffed to the elevator. This footage confirms the fact of detention of the champion.
There is no official information yet about the reasons for Usyk's arrest. The authorities and representatives of the boxer have not yet commented on the situation.
Oleksandr Usyk's wife Ekaterina commented on the event in her Instagram:
"Everything is normal, everything is fine!!! Later Alexander will explain everything!!! Nothing criminal... Good night everyone!!!"
