Joe Joyce has changed his mind about who'll win the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight. The two heavyweights will face off for the IBF World Heavyweight Title at Wembley Stadium this month.
Both Joshua and Dubois have lost to Oleksandr Usyk recently. When Usyk gave up the IBF belt, Dubois got promoted to full champion.
The fight probably won't go all 12 rounds. Between them, Joshua and Dubois have knocked out 45 opponents. They've both been stopped in fights before too.
Joe Joyce, who's fought both men, talked about the match-up in an interview with Queensberry Promotions.
"I think that'll be a good fight. I'm gonna try and be there or watch it and see who gonna be the winner. It's a very tasty fight, I like the build-up where Dubois is coming out of his shell and Joshua's biting back, all that animosity is exciting stuff. Yeah, I can't wait to see it."
Joyce had first picked Joshua to win, but he's not so sure now.
"I was initially edging with Joshua but I don't know, Dubois is coming on."
Joyce has a good reason to want Dubois to win:
"It looks better for me. I beat Dubois, he beats Joshua, right?"
Joyce knows both fighters well. He beat Dubois in 2020, taking his British, Commonwealth, and European Heavyweight titles. Dubois had to quit in the 10th round because of eye damage. Joyce has also sparred with Joshua in the past.
The 38-year-old Joyce lost on points to Derek Chisora in July. He's told fans he'll be back in the ring soon.
