Derek Chisora thinks Anthony Joshua will beat everyone in the heavyweight division. The British boxer believes AJ has what it takes to knock out both Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Chisora shared his bold predictions in a recent interview with TalkSPORT Boxing. He's confident Joshua has improved a lot under his new trainer, Ben Davison.
"AJ will knock Fury out in six rounds and he will stop Usyk in round four. I'm telling you now. Because now he's got the right dancing partner, his trainer. That guy hasn't stopped watching the two tapes of him fighting Usyk. Because he wants that fight badly, he wants the rematch. He wants Usyk to win the fight with Fury."
These predictions come after the recent undisputed heavyweight championship fight in May. Usyk beat Fury by split decision in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was the first undisputed heavyweight contest in 25 years.
Usyk and Fury are set for a rematch in December due to a rematch clause in their contract. Meanwhile, Joshua is getting ready to fight Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title this month. Chisora thinks Joshua will win that fight too, but it won't be easy.
When asked if Joshua could become the undisputed champion, Chisora said:
"Yes... I think the changes he's made are Ben Davison and the people around him round him now. They're listening to him, they're understanding. They've gelled now. He was not knocking out his sparring partners and now he's knocking them out. Because of Ben Davison."
Chisora believes the change in Joshua's team has made a big difference. He says Joshua's now working well with his new trainer and the people around him. This has led to better results in sparring, with Joshua now knocking out his sparring partners.
It's worth noting that Chisora has connections to all these fighters. Joshua's management company represents him, and he's fought both Fury and Usyk in the past. This gives him a unique perspective on the heavyweight division.
