Terence Crawford's Next Opponent Revealed After Canelo Talks Crumble: "It's The Only Fight That Makes Sense"

Terence Crawford beat Israel Madrimov to win the WBA Super-Welterweight World Title. Crawford kept his perfect record and ended Madrimov's undefeated streak in his first fight at the new weight.

Crawford won by decision, ending his run of eleven straight knockouts. He picked up the WBA Super-Welterweight World Title and the WBO Interim belt, making him a champion in four weight classes.

After the fight, Crawford wanted to move up two divisions to face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez at 168lbs. Those plans fell through when Canelo refused to talk until after his September 14 fight with Edgar Berlanga.

Now, Crawford will likely unify titles with Sebastian Fundora. Fundora holds the WBO and WBC belts after beating Tim Tszyu. The WBO has given Crawford and Fundora 30 days to make a deal before they call for purse bids.

If either fighter doesn't agree to the fight without the other's okay, they'll lose their WBO title.

Fundora might have other plans. He's been talking about fighting Errol Spence Jr later this year. Spence is the guy Crawford beat to become undisputed welterweight champ. We don't know if the WBO's order will change Fundora's plans.

Crawford's win over Madrimov keeps him in the mix for big fights. He'll either unify with Fundora or wait for a shot at Canelo. Either way, 'Bud' Crawford's star keeps rising in boxing.
