Interestingly, the press release announcing the fight states that only three belts (WBC, WBO and WBA) will be on the line, meaning that Canelo likely forfeited the IBF title due to his refusal to make a mandatory defense against William Scull.
In the same event, Erislandy Lara (30-3, 18 KOs) and Danny Garcia (37-3, 21 KOs) will fight for the WBA middleweight title. The event will be streamed on Amazon Prime and DAZN.
