UFC top-ranked lightweight Arman Tsarukyan denied that he turned down an offer to rematch current division champion Islam Makhachev three or four times.

"I had a fight with Joel Alvarez and Beneil Dariush declined and they were looking for someone to replace him. So, I was there and they asked, 'Do you want to fight Islam?' I replied, "Why should I fight him if I have a fight this week...". I said I'm not ready for this guy, because my whole training camp was under the orthodox," - quotes Tsarukyan New York Post Sports.

Recall that in April 2019, Tsarukyan lost to Makhachev by unanimous decision of the judges.
