Matchroom Boxing has announced the end of its partnership with Chantelle Cameron, a former undisputed 140lb world champion. This decision came to light last month, concluding the relationship between the two parties. Matchroom issued a statement expressing good wishes for Cameron's future pursuits.
Cameron was undefeated before facing Katie Taylor on two significant occasions. The first bout almost a year ago marked a major upset as Cameron secured a majority-decision win on Taylor's home turf, halting Taylor’s efforts to become a two-division undisputed champion.
However, the rematch in Dublin ended differently due to a majority decision win for Katie Taylor amidst allegations of bias. This fight stirred controversy and discontent towards Eddie Hearn’s handling of both fighters. Cameron expressed embarrassment and disappointment about perceived favoritism towards Taylor. Despite Cameron's desire for a trilogy match against Katie Taylor, she is considering other avenues such as MMA or moving up in weight class to face Natasha Jonas for another title shot.
Matchroom Boxing can today confirm that we reached an agreement last month to release Chantelle Cameron from her promotional deal.

We would like to wish Chantelle all the best in her future endeavours.
Eddie Hearn faced criticism following his different reactions to the outcomes of these bouts. His visibly contrasting responses—tearful at Taylor’s loss and jubilant at her win—added fuel to the fire regarding his impartiality.
Katie Taylor has decided not to pursue an immediate third match with Cameron, opting instead for other challengers like Amanda Serrano. This decision further complicates the possibility of closure that a trilogy with Cameron might offer.
Cameron now seeks new opportunities potentially outside boxing or in higher weight classes, challenging other champions such as Natasha Jonas.
