Usik: “The hardest battle is with the enemy who attacked our country”

WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion Alexander Usik (21-0, 14 KOs) does not consider a fight with the WBC title holder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) the heaviest in his career.

— Will this be the hardest fight in your career?

- No.

- Why?

— We haven’t boxed yet.

— Do you think that it will be the heaviest when it takes place?

— It’s just a sport, it’s boxing. Now for us, for Ukrainians, and for me personally, the hardest battle is the fight against the enemy who attacked our country.

— How do you manage to focus on your sports career in such emotional times for your country?

— Because in this way I help the guys who defend our country. There is no need to focus on what you do not own, what you cannot control. You need to focus on what you can be the best at,” Usyk said.

The Usyk-Fury fight will take place on February 17 in Saudi Arabia.
