Stevenson: “I hope we have a big fight with Navarrete”

Former two-weight world champion Shakur Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs) announced his desire to fight with the WBO title holder in the second featherweight division Emanuel Navarrete (38-1, 31 KOs).

“You have to ask Top Rank if I will fight Navarrete. I think they can answer, but again, I’m ready to fight anyone, anytime, if everything goes well. Emanuel is on the undercard. I hope he can get the job done. I will also do my part and we can have a big battle after this.

I will no longer drop down to the second featherweight division. I'm comfortable at the light weight, I don't have to push so much weight here. I think you'll see a lot more knockouts now.

I don't like being avoided. I want to participate in the biggest fights and I don’t want to fight mediocre opponents. Now in the lightweight division there are only two big names for a big fight,” Boxing News 24/7 quotes Stevenson as saying.

On November 6, Stevenson will fight Edwin De Los Santos in Las Vegas. On the undercard of this fight, Navarrete will defend his belt against Robson Conceicao.
