WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman once again gladly stated that the council is not going to sanction a fight for the title of absolute world champion in the first heavyweight division between Dmitry Bivol And Artur Beterbiev due to sanctions against Russian athletes.

“We have already said several times that Bivol should contact us and express his point of view on why we should not consider him a Russian. Because we do not organize fights with the participation of citizens of Russia and Belarus.

He hasn't contacted us for several months now. Everything is simple here. If Bivol believes that his treatment is unfair and that he should have a different status, then he should contact us,” Boxing News quotes Suleiman.

Let us recall that Beterbiev successfully circumvents anti-Russian sanctions by performing under the flag of Canada. Bivol, in turn, recently stated that he can also find a loophole - for this he only needs to obtain a passport of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, of which he is a native.
