Negotiations began regarding the organization of a fight between Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) and WBO world super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez (19-1, 13 KOs). The fight could take place on February 10 in Las Vegas and be shown in the US on pay-per-view.

Before that, Garcia will return to the ring in December after losing toĀ Gervonta Davis and will fight withĀ Oscar Duarte. In his last professional appearance, Lopez won on points againstĀ Josh Taylor.

For the sake of Garciaā€™s fight, Oscar de la Hoya met with his colleague Bob Arum, about which he published a corresponding post on Instagram and called on other promoters to ā€œuniteā€: ā€œGreat meeting with Father Bob. I call on all promoters to unite and organize the biggest fights and the best fights for boxing fans.ā€

Previously, Oscar had stated that he would like to book Garcia's next fight, be it against Lopez or Devina Haney, forĀ Super Bowl weekend on February 10th atĀ Las Vegas' new MSG Sphere arena.
