The promoter explained Bivol's long downtime

Well-known British promoter Eddie Hearn said that the WBA world light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol has not entered the ring since November last year due to a hand injury.

“I once told him: “You need to talk about your injury, because everyone seems to think that you missed a year because of our fault.” At the beginning of this year he was fine, but then he got injured.

We expect Dmitry to compete before the end of the year and then fight the winner of the Smith-Beterbiev fight for the title of absolute champion,” Hearn said in an interview with Seconds Out.
