Brother of the WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KO) Shane Fury explains why to offer the title holder WBA, WBO, IBF Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KO) 30 percent of the total purse split was an acceptable offer.

“I don’t know how much Usyk earned during the last battle. Probably several million dollars. But what I know is that he would have received 17 million for the fight with Tyson. It was a good split (70 to 30% in favor of Fury). He was almost in his city with a million Ukrainians, selling tickets for 11 dollars and there were islands everywhere with empty seats.

So from a business point of view it somehow doesn’t add up. The difference on both sides was really big,” said Shane Fury in an interview with iFL TV
