Frank Warren confirmed that he had officially submitted a request to the leadership of the World Boxing Association with a request to oblige Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) to give revenge Daniel Dubois (19-2, 18 KOs).

Warren, Dubois' promoter, backed up his claim with a fifth-round situation when the IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight champion was given more than three minutes to recover from a challenger's low blow. However, the British promoter claims that the blow was within the rules and his fighter should have won by knockout. He will not change the result of the fight, will not annul the result, but intends to force the champion to have a mandatory rematch.

“Our appeal has been submitted. If the Association does the right thing, in the worst case, it will appoint a revenge. However, I don't think the WBA will consider the fight a no contest, which is what we would like too. Daniel deserved this rematch,” says Warren.

“Come on, Frank, you have been in this business for a long time and still believe in magic. A low blow is a violation, and nothing will change that, ”Egis Klimas, Usyk’s manager, calmly replied to Warren.

Recall that ten days ago, Usyk sent Dubois to the floor of the ring at the end of the eighth round, and at the beginning of the ninth round he ended the fight ahead of schedule.
