Eddie Hearn would like his ward to Filip Hrgovic (16-0, 13 KOs) fought for three heavyweight belts with Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) this year. The Croatian has been a mandatory contender for the IBF title for over a year now.
“In my opinion, this fight will be scheduled this week,” the head of Matchroom Boxing told Boxing Social. “At this point, Usyk will have the opportunity to ask for a fight with someone else, but the only fighter who could be accepted as an exception is Tyson Fury.”
“However, since Fury already has a fight scheduled, such an exception is not possible. Therefore, I think that we will be able to finalize this issue and organize the duel between Usyk and Hrgovic in December. We assess Hrgovic's chances in this fight as high. He's definitely made progress lately and we'd love to see this fight happen," Hearn added.
