Sergey Lapin, director of the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion team Oleksandr Usyk, criticized Daniel Dubois for refusing to continue the battle.
“A few rounds after a low blow - and this is what really needs to be discussed in their fight - Dubois again fell to his knee, as in a duel with Joe Joyce. He gave up again and will give up in the future. Dubois is a big guy, he has a punch, but it takes more to be a champion. Dubois lacks the mentality to be a champion. An example of this is that he gives up and then complains after the fight.
But at least Dubois agreed to fight, unlike Tyson Fury, who cares more about being a Netflix star than defending the WBC title. Usyk is the best fighter of this generation and he wants to prove it. Talks are ongoing about their fight in Saudi Arabia in January, but when it comes to Fury, don't bet your life on it happening," Lapin told Casino Alpha.
Recall that on August 26, Usyk defeated Dubois ahead of schedule in Wroclaw, Poland.
