British heavyweight Daniel Dubois spoke about his childhood idols, whose success he intends to repeat in the upcoming fight with the unified division champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
“Every fighter dreams of fighting for all the belts or for unification of titles. This is what I work so hard for. This fight means a lot to me.
My dad always said, even before I started boxing, "You want to be the heavyweight champion of the world." We always watched the fights of Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno, as well as many other guys.
They succeeded, and now it's my turn. They laid the foundations. Now is my time. I worked hard and was always in the gym, went through ups and downs. I have understood the lessons and am ready to accept them. It's time to win these titles," Dubois was quoted as saying by BpxingScene.
Recall, Usyk and Dubois will fight on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland.
