According to American columnist Dan Rafael, the fight for the WBA regular welterweight belt scheduled for Saturday between Virgil Ortiz (19-0, 19 KOs) and Eimantas Stanionis (14-0, 9 KOs) will not take place.

The fight was supposed to be the main event of the Golden Boy Promotions evening in San Antonio. Ortiz, who had serious health problems in recent months, was taken to the hospital after losing consciousness.

This is the third unsuccessful attempt to hold this fight. The boxing evening itself in San Antonio will take place as planned, with the new main event being the showdown between Floyd Schofield and Haskell Rhodes.
