Garcia could face Romero

Negotiations are underway to conclude a contract for a fight between Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) and Rolando Romero (15-1, 13 KOs). The fight may take place in the summer at one of the Golden Boy Promotions tournaments.

At stake in the meeting will be the WBA super lightweight world title. Romero, 27, recently won the belt with a controversial stoppage against Ismael Barroso.

For Garcia, it will be a return to the ring after a crushing loss to Gervonta Davis. After this performance, the 24-year-old King of Paradise changed coaches and began working with Derrick James.
