Eddie Hearn has a lot of great boxers in his stable, but he may have been able to sign potentially the biggest star. Cuban Andy Cruz, Olympic champion and three-time world champion in Olympic boxing, will join the ranks of Matchroom Boxing and further enhance the prestige of the already very strong lightweight.

Andy Cruz tried several times to flee his native country for fame and money. After another unsuccessful attempt, he was expelled from the team. His amateur resume includes victories over Keyshawn Davis (x4) and Robeisi Ramirez, among others.

“He was one of the most anticipated boxers in professional boxing and we are proud to be entrusted with the career of this extremely talented fighter. We should see him in big fights pretty soon. It is possible that one day he will be the best boxer we have signed. I bet he will beat anyone in the world at lightweight,” said Eddie Hearn.

“I realized that in fact every minute counts and there is no point in wasting time. You will also see a more mature boxer in the ring than before. The worst is over, now I will devote myself to reaching the top in professional boxing, ”Kroes said.
