Lee Wood thanked the coach for stopping the fight

Former World Featherweight Champion Lee Wood thanked his coach Ben Davison, who threw in the towel in the seventh round and stopped his fight with Mauricio Laroy. Wood led the fight to the seventh round, but missed the left hook, from which he ended up in a heavy knockdown. The Briton was able to get up before the end of the referee's count, ten seconds remained before the end of the round and the referee seemed to be going to allow the boxers to continue, but at that moment Davison threw the towel into the ring, and Wood at first tried to protest against the coach's decision.

“I support the decision of my coach, I know that he cares about me,” Wood wrote yesterday in one of the social networks. - Boxers sometimes need to be saved from themselves. I still have a lot of big fights ahead of me. At first, I was very offended, but today I play with my children and smile, because I know that, as always, I will return better than I was."
