By the end of April, there should be a fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion, that is, a confrontation between the WBC champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and IBF, WBA and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). Negotiations on it continue, and in the meantime, the famous British coach Adam Booth has named his favorite in this confrontation.
“I think we will see this fight. Right now. How will it look like? The rhythm and movement of Usyk in the ring is a challenge for larger opponents, but Tyson is over 2m tall, extremely agile and has long arms,” said Booth, best known for his work with champions such as David Haye and George Groves.
“I love watching Usyk, but there's a reason we have weight divisions in boxing and Fury is in a league of his own here. He is a giant with excellent mobility, and I bet on him against Usyk, ”Bout added.
Recall that a week ago, representatives of the IBF approved a decision according to which the first in line of mandatory contenders for a meeting with Usyk is now WBA contender Daniel Dubois. Earlier, the IBF ordered Usyk to fight Filip Hrgovic, but later abandoned this decision.
Dubois will not stand in the way of Fury's fight against Usyk, as he is associated with Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions, and also collaborates, in particular, with Fury, whose team has already sent Usyk their version of the contract for the duel for the title of absolute champion of the royal division.
