Oscar Rivas (28-1, 19 KOs) published a post on Instagram, in which he said that he was not going to hang gloves on a nail yet. A few hours earlier, the Colombian was supposed to tell reporters that he was retiring from boxing due to an eye injury, and in his Instastory he published a photo in which a colleague from the training room wishes him a “happy retirement”.

“Contrary to rumors, I have not told anyone that I am retiring and I am not going to retire. I just confirmed that I had to cancel the fight on January 14th. I am currently in Colombia with my family, when I return I will see my doctor and we will assess the situation. In any case, thank you for the many messages of support, as well as my team, the Yvon Michel Group and WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman. We must live on! Merry Christmas everyone," Rivas wrote.

Oscar Rivas withdrew from the fight with Efe Ajagba a few days ago due to an eye injury. Then his promoter Yvon Michel said that the injury may prevent the Colombian from defending the WBC bridge belt with Lukasz Ruzanski (14-0, 13 KOs) in March in Poland.
