Teams Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) complete negotiations for a fight for four heavyweight belts. As Frank Warren stated in an interview with talkSport, there will likely be a rematch clause in the contracts for the duel.
“I’m not sure yet, because we haven’t gotten to that yet, but there will be a revenge. God forbid that one of them got a cut or something else went wrong - anything can happen in boxing, so I think there will be a rematch clause, ”said Fury's promoter.
“There will be four titles at stake, and all of them will go to the winner, but if there is a rematch, I doubt that there will still be four, because the federations are unlikely to allow it. I think they'll say, "It's time for mandatory defenses," Warren added.
There are currently three mandatory contenders in the heavyweight division: Daniel Dubois (WBA), Filip Hrgovic (IBF) and Joe Joyce (WBO). The WBC challenger must be determined in the Wilder Ruiz eliminator.
