“She is still resentful, she is still a miserable loser,” said Alicia Baumgardner in an interview with BoxingScene.com to her former rival Mikaela Mayer, which she defeated by a majority vote on October 15 in London in a unification fight for the WBC, IBF and WBO featherweight titles. — I like it because it will go down in history. She can never take that away from me."

The vibrant online feud between Baumgardner and Mayer continues on social media to this day. Mayer (17-1, 5 KOs) immediately after the fight stated that she deserved to win this fight and repeatedly called for a rematch. According to Baumgardner (13-1, 7 KOs), she enjoys the reaction of her opponent.

“I expected such a reaction from her. Again, she's a big loser," Baumgardner said. “Any fighter who loses just takes that 'L'. I accepted my "L" - look where I am now. It is what it is. This is boxing. You win, you lose. You will come back stronger. I give her credit, but I am the best at 130 pounds and I will continue to prove it if the rematch happens and if I decide it will."

Nothing is known about Mayer's next fight. Baumgardner plans to return in February for what she hopes is a fight for the undisputed featherweight championship, pending an WBA decision, given reports of injuries to undefeated champion Hyun Mi Choi.
