WBO calls for Okoli-Light fight

WBO officially mandated Lawrence Okoli (18-0, 14 KOs) to defend his cruiserweight title against an undefeated David Light (20-0, 12 KOs) from New Zealand.

Boxers' promoters were given 20 days to agree on the organization of the fight. If they do not agree on the terms of the contracts during this time, then the venue for the fight will be determined at the promotional tender.

Lawrence Okoli, who had only one performance left under the banner of Matchroom Boxing under the contract, entered the ring for the last time in February, defeating Michal Cieslak. David Light just three days ago in the United States scored a surprise split decision victory over the previously undefeated American Brandon Glanton.
