Alain Babich (11-0, 10 KOs) announced that his duel with Riad Merhi (31-1, 26 KOs) should be held in the first quarter of next year. The boxers were recently nominated to compete in the final eliminator for the WBC world title in the bridge weight division.

“My manager Dillian Whyte is going to have a fight now and after that he will have to take care of my fight. I've been training for four months, so I feel like I'm ready. We can fight even in December, but I expect our fight to take place at the latest at the end of February.”

“Merhi is a strong opponent. He wins a lot of fights ahead of schedule, he definitely won’t be scared, and this will be my most difficult sports test after the fight with Adam Balsky, ”added Babich.

The winner of the Babić-Merhi fight will become the official contender for the title of the World Boxing Council in the weight category up to 101 kg. Oskar Rivas and Lukasz Ruzhansky will fight for the championship belt in this division on February 25 in Rzeszow, Poland.
