Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) stated that he intends to have a maximum of three professional fights before retiring from the sport. The 35-year-old athlete is planning fights with Tyson Fury, Saul Alvarez and a farewell performance in Ukraine.
“If you ask me about the fight with Canelo, then, in my opinion, it will be a bit of an odd fight. Do I agree? Yes, but only for the sake of money,” Usyk said.
In August, the Ukrainian defeated Anthony Joshua for the second time and defended the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles. His unification bout with WBC title holder Tyson Fury is tentatively scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
“If I fail to fight Fury, I will face Deontay Wilder. However, my main choice is Fury,” Usyk added.
