Two-time Olympic champion Robeysi Ramirez drew the attention of Top Rank with a loud knockout over the invincible Abraham New and his career should noticeably accelerate. After a shaky start to his professional career when he lost a decision on his debut, Ramirez (10-1, 6 KOs) seems to be aiming for something big again in his next featherweight outing.

There are many big names in the weight class such as Emanuel Navarrete, Josh Warrington, Leo Santa Cruz, Mark Magsio and Lee Wood. The most obvious path for Ramirez to the title would be to fight WBO champion Navarrete, who is also under contract with Top Rank.

However, at the moment there is talk of Navarrete moving up in weight and there is no guarantee that he will be interested in fighting Ramirez when more lucrative options exist at featherweight.

“I have little contact with Top Rank. I let my team take care of it, but after the fight with Nova, you see and feel that now they think differently about me. They realized that they should pay a little more attention to me. They are more interested in advancing my career,” Ramirez said in an interview with George Ebro.

“I have said this in many interviews: the higher the quality of my opponent, the better I will fight. I want to fight the best and that's what I need. There are good names in the division, but I am ready to fight anyone. Let Top Rank give me the test they want."

“I will fight anyone. With everyone who is there in featherweight, I would fight without problems. As in the fight with Nova, a good camp is all I need. The main thing is Salas in the corner and a good strategy. We are ready to fight anyone they put in front of us, the best in the division. I know how Top Rank works and I think it would make sense if they put me in an eliminator. I don't know if Navarrete will stay at 126 or go higher. If he leaves the title vacant, I'll be ready to fight for him."
