In order to box in the UK, he will have to apply to the BBBoC for a provisional license as an overseas boxer. Fury claims he doesn't want to get licensed again in the UK as he has been at odds with the Council for years.
“Now I am an American fighter,” Fury said. “The last time I fought Deontay Wilder, I was announced as the representative of Henderson, Nevada.”
Fury has a home in Henderson, USA, which he has not visited since he returned to the UK in October last year, where he will train for the fight with Whyte near his home in Morecambe.
Fury relinquished his British license when the UK Anti-Doping Service (UKAD) said it was investigating the farmer's allegations that he had lied in a doping investigation, after which Fury was retroactively given a two-year ban for testing positive for nandrolone in 2015.
Fury was previously fined twice for speaking out against fellow heavyweight David Price and for using foul language at a press conference. Co-promoters Frank Warren and Bob Arum say they will have no problem playing under the auspices of the BBBoC as an overseas boxer.
“Tyson has a Vegas license, so it’s no different than any foreign fighter coming to the UK. It won't be a problem," Warren said.
"We did a poll about 'who is the best American fighter' and Tyson won," added Bob Arum.
Fury said fighting in the UK means his entire training camp will take place in Morecambe.
“The time difference is too big for me to go back to Las Vegas and then train again in the UK,” Fury said. - When I fight in the UK, I train here, when I fight in America, I train there. But after April, I will return to Las Vegas, because now this is the home of the King of the Gypsies, these rays of the sun are my place. I bought a big beautiful house there and never used it, just for one camp. My trainer Sugar Hill Steward now lives in the house for free and sends me pictures of everything in there and how he has fun. I like it there."
Fury also revealed who he would spar with during camp.
“I will invite Jarod Anderson from the USA, one of their best heavyweights in the world,” Fury said. - I will use the services of one of the young heavyweights Frank David Adele and Martin Bakole. He's a friend of AJ, they've had many rounds of sparring together so he can come back and tell AJ how good I am. Fury plans to live away from home during the camp in his other house.
