WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury without any problems, he will be ready to enter the duel for the complete unification of the division against Oleksandr Usyk in 2022. In the meantime, Fury must face the mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte April 23 at Wembley Stadium. Usyk holds the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles, which he won in September 2021 against Anthony Joshua. Their rematch is scheduled for May.

At one point, there was talk of both Joshua and White stepping aside to allow Fury and Usyk's titles to be unified. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has stated in several interviews that Fury was too stubborn about making the deal and thought Fury was avoiding the Usyk scenario.

On the other hand, Fury contends that Joshua was demanding too much of a release clause, with an alleged belated demand for an additional $5 million to complete the deal.

“I would fight Usyk seven days a week, 62 times on Sundays in his backyard. I would fight Usyk and Joshua on the same day. I don't rate them too highly, they're bums compared to me," Fury said in an interview with IFL TV. “As far as avoiding someone, I just fought Deontay Wilder three times. You think I'm worried about middleweight or some bodybuilder? I will destroy them."

“I want you all to know that the only reason this fight failed was because AJ wanted more money at the last minute. He thought I was going to give him an extra five million. Usyk will get his fight with me no problem when he beats Joshua again. Joshua will not have a chance in the fight for the title of absolute champion, and that's the point, ”concluded Fury.
